Large Colliery Collection

We have been given access to a large collection of colliery postcards, approx 2,500 in total, covering the whole of the British Isles, which have been collected over the last 40 years and cover the period from around 1905 to the 1950s. The first 150 images, all Yorkshire collieries, have now been uploaded. These are being done alphabetically, so collieries beginning A-G have been uploaded so far. We will carry on with all of the Yorkshire mines and will then move on to the other coalfields. New Gallery & More Images

A new Montgomeryshire Railways in Colour Gallery has been added to the Wales section of the British Railways in Colour Gallery in the main Railways Gallery. It contains 15 images to start with; more will be added as they become available. Also a few more images have been added to both the Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire galleries in the same Railways in Colour Section. Finally, another 20 plus colour images have been added to the Cuba Railways Gallery in Foreign Railways.Viewed: 1842

New Coal Mining Gallery

A new gallery has been uploaded for the West Midlands Coalfield, which covers the counties of Worcestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire, and the Birmingham area. There are over 100 pictures in the new gallery and more will be added as they become available. The pictures cover mainly the 1905 to 1930 period.Viewed: 1857
